TEACH, DISCIPLE, AND ENGAGE

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Teach Sound Doctrine

Bible Study, Preaching, Worship, Apologetics

The Psalmist cried out, “Teach me Your way, O Lord, and lead me in a level path” (Psalm 27:11). Paul commanded Timothy to, “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction” (2 Timothy 4:2). We believe in systematically teaching the Word of God. While there is a place for topical sermons, especially in the age we are living through, we emphasize verse-by-verse exegesis of the Scriptures. This allows for a proper understanding of the context and flow of each book of the Bible as well as broad and thorough understanding of the Christian worldview.

Disciple God’s people

Relationships, Fellowship, Time Spent Together

Jesus’ parting words were, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20). It is our passion and desire here at Covenant Bible Church to disciple Christians in the service of our Lord Jesus. Christians discipled in their faith make strong families, which in turn makes for a strong church and society.

Engage with Culture

Go Forth, Get Involved, Affect Society

The Apostle Paul taught the church, “The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). We want the Church’s presence to be a force in cultural development. We want to see lives changed, families strengthened, and a moral recovery in our city, state, and country. Christ is King over all and His people are called to engage culture to His glory and for the increase of His kingdom.
